RG-6 Satellite Radio Antenna Extension Kit
For commercial and high end home installations

This kit includes the connectors, amplifier and adapters to permit the use of standard RG-6 cable (with male F connectors) to extend the length of satellite radio antenna cables. It can extend the antenna cable up to 125 additional feet with the amplifier supplied. Multiple satellite radio rated amplifiers (one for each 125 foot segment: Model SBA-1) can be used to make longer cables. This kit provides the flexibility to allow the installer to cut RG-6 cable to custom lengths and to use plenum-rated RG-6 cable where fire codes require. A three foot length of small diameter coaxial cable is supplied with an SMB plug to mate with the radio. The amps must be placed as shown in the diagrams below at the antenna end of the cable to overcome the cable loss for proper operation of the satellite radio.

This kit does not include the RG-6 cable with male F connectors.

125 Foot Extension
The diagram below shows the configuration for a 125 foot extension cable. To overcome the loss of the RG-6 cable, one satellite radio rated line amplifier (Model SBA-1) is required to be located at the end of the standard 20 foot antenna cable before the RG-6 cable run.

250 Foot Extension
The diagram below shows a 250 foot length of RG-6 cable. This requires the use of two line amps (Model SBA-1), located as shown at the antenna end of the cable. Do not locate these amps at the receiver end of the cable.

375 Foot Extension
The diagram below shows a 375 foot length of RG-6 cable. This requires the use of three line amps (Model SBA-1), located as shown at the antenna end of the cable for a total of three amps in cascade. Do not locate these amps at the receiver end of the cable.

For XM Satellite Radio installations involving runs in excess of 375 feet, the use of a 5.0 VDC power inserter is recommended (Model PS-1) to overcome the DC drop through the cable in order to provide enough DC voltage to power the amplifiers and low noise amplifier inside the antenna.
